  CEPA offers opportunities for young people from Sri Lanka and overseas to intern at the centre either as a requirement of their degree work, or because they are interested in poverty research. During the past year, a number of interns have provided support to both the research and operations work at CEPA.
 
  Iresha Balasuriya
  (November 2008 – February 2009)
Iresha was assigned to the PIM programme to assist with field work and other related tasks for the CMC urban poverty project and the ECO Asia/USAID willingness to pay survey.
 
  Aloka Bellanwitharana
  (October 2008 – January 2009)
Aloka was assigned to the PIM Programme to carry out a study related to the CMC urban poverty project and to assist with data collection and analysis in the ECO Asia/USAID willingness to pay survey. She also reviewed and summerised literature for the IFAD COSOP assignment.er
 
  Amila Dassanayake
  (October 2007 – January 2008)
Attached to the PIM programme, Amila was assigned to collect household and community level data for the CMC urban poverty project and to collect resources for the poverty profile and institutional analysis for the IFAD Mission.
 
  Tiloka De Silva
  (on going throughout the year)
Tiloka has been worked with CEPA for several years, carrying out a variety of tasks. During this time frame she provided support to numerous assignments including field data collection, syntheisis and documentation, library cataloguing, editing and proofing, and workshop coordination.
 
  Tashya De Silva
  (July – December 2008)
Undertook activities in the PAM programme specifically in developing new activities within the programme, and the Desk Review on Poverty and Child Malnutrition in Sri Lanka for Save the Children, which was managed through the PAM programme.
 
  Ruwan Priyadharshana Gunandahandi
  (October 2007- March 2008)
Attached to the PIM programme, carried out a case study the effects on cash crop agriculture as a part of the ADB Independent External Monitoring of Resettlement Activities of the Southern Transport Development Project.
 
  Sajitha Herath
  (September 2008-January 2009)
Attached to the PAM programme, was part of the team working on the CEPA Poverty Database. In addition, he assisted with finding background materials and consolidating information for several of CEPA’s assignments.
 
  Nipunika Perera
  (June - August 2008)
Nipunika provided project support to both the PIM and PAM programmes. She carried out background material sourcing and compiling, data collection and data entry, documentation and workshop support to several assignments.
 
  Anushka Perera
  (December 2008 - January 2009)
Anushka was assigned to the PAM programme to assist organise information resources for the poverty database.
