When Disasters Collide: Managing Disasters in the context of Covid-19 in South Asia

Please join us for this virtual discussion, jointly organized by Duryog Nivaran and the Centre for Poverty Analysis. We will focus on lessons learnt from managing compound disasters – where countries in the South Asia region are dealing with the COVID-19 disaster as well as other disasters simultaneously. This discussion forum will bring together diverse practitioners from the region to share their experiences with the aim of exploring how disaster management systems can be improved and adapted for the new normal.
The discussion entitled When Disasters Collide: Learning from the management of recent disaster events in South Asia, will be done virtually and will have 4 speakers from South Asia representing different stakeholder groups followed by an open discussion with the participants. A moderator will manage the panel and the open discussion. The discussion is scheduled for June 30th – from 4 – 5 pm
The session will take place on Tuesday 30 June 2020 4.00 – 5.30 pm Sri Lanka and India Time. The platform will be on zoom.
