Assessments

CEPA’s experience has straddled several sectors and thematic areas in the area of assessments: resettlement, conflict, infrastructure (roads, energy, and water and sanitation), plantations, children’s issues, and youth. Poverty, gender and environmental analyses are mainstreamed into CEPA’s work. CEPA has used its expertise to assist clients to design programmes, to prioritise pro-poor interventions, to construct monitoring systems, carry out inprocess monitoring and independent external evaluations, and to develop organisational capacity in project design, monitoring and evaluation.

Impact Monitoring

Poverty reduction is the overarching goal of development interventions and impact monitoring can be used to ensure that development interventions and policies are better oriented to the needs of the poor. Good, impact monitoring efforts should help you understand, measure and improve poverty outcomes of development interventions.

Dialogue and Exchange

CEPA’s Dialogue and Exchange (D&E) services play a key role in enabling the discussion of poverty related issues within the activities of all programmes. CEPA aims to optimise the process of learning and sharing knowledge and experiences through regular discussions, seminars and conferences. Apart from the formal events, our web platforms and social media networks aim to influence discourse through a steady stream of outputs, including news, videos, think pieces and photographs.

Training and Facilitation

CEPA’s training portfolio complements its other service areas by facilitating the transfer of expertise and knowledge acquired through CEPA’s research and practical use of various research methods.

Resource Centre

The Resource Centre’s role is to generate and effectively share information on poverty and development in Sri Lanka among a broader section of stakeholders and create space for interaction to encourage debate & discourses and generate innovative ideas to contribute to development practices to produce a better informed society.

Facilities

The Reference Library is the platform for information generation and dissemination on poverty and development in Sri Lanka to exchange knowledge amongst information seekers. To do so, the Resource Centre adopts various tools and strategies to communicate the knowledge effectively and efficiently among information seekers and supports research and encourages the use of robust and reliable information.

Space for Interaction

The Space for Interaction was set up to bring together individuals and groups to interact and exchange ideas, experiences, stories, knowledge and expertise among those interested and/or engaged in development and social change. Thus, Space for Interaction provides space to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, engage in debate & discourse and generate innovative ideas on poverty and societal issues with a view to bring about positive change and strengthen change processes. The space is available for meetings, forums and interactions and ideation among organisations, groups, activists and individuals who are interested and/or engaged in such discourses.

Think Space

CEPA’s ‘Think Space’ is equipped with a Reference Library and an interactive space to carry out various events to generate, and exchange knowledge.
